As plumbers, we fix annoying leaks, install faucets, and repair busted pipes. With this work comes the knowledge that we are responsible for providing the clean water we drink. We are honored to be in this business, we take pride in our work, and our customers want to work with us.
So when it comes to the World Oceans Day, we take the day to heart, trying our best to not only keep the ocean safe and healthy but also continuing for future generations. We encourage you to take the time to think about how the ocean affects you, and how you change the ocean, and then organize or participate in activities that celebrate our ocean.
The ocean is important because it:
- Produces the oxygen that we breathe.
- Balances our climate.
- Cleans the water we drink.
- Offers a pharmacopoeia of medicines.
- Inspires artists, engineers, and scientists.
What can we do?
Change perspective. Encourage people to consider what the ocean means to them, the ocean’s potential, and how we can conserve it for the present and the future generations.
Learn. Discover the wealth of limitless and delightful ocean creatures and habitats, reflecting on how our daily actions affect them, encouraging them to see all things as unified and interconnected.
Change our ways. We are all interconnected through the ocean. By taking care of your yard and serving in your community, you’re acting as a caretaker of our ocean. Making small changes to your everyday habits can make a difference. Involving your family, friends, and community will create a unified blue planet.
