Today marks the birthday of the most influential civil rights leader in America’s history, Martin Luther King, Jr. The third Monday in January celebrates the tireless work of Martin Luther King Jr. and his followers. It wasn’t easy for King and his fellow activists. He paved a path for civil liberties that we enjoy today and it was a dangerous path.
It is vital that we remember that our civil liberties came at a high cost and they should never be taken for granted. If you would like to do more and find yourself busy, there are simple steps everyone can take to keep Martin Luther King’s dream alive.
The biggest step out of these small steps is to consider adding volunteering into your life. There is a service that matches the town you live in with service opportunities available. It is called Volunteer Match and we encourage our customers to consider it on this day of service.
