On New Year’s Day, many of us make resolutions for the upcoming year. A New Year’s resolution is a commitment to do or not do something to achieve a personal goal or break a habit. All of us want to try to improve ourselves as the new year begins. Some people consider volunteering at a church, helping out around the house and doing chores, or to being kind to friends, teachers, and family members.
Sometimes our resolutions can go beyond our own goals and fit into our surroundings. With this in mind, we encourage you to see where the plumbing fits into the bigger picture and make resolutions for your home’s water system.
It’s the Little Things. If you see a leaking faucet, hear strange sounds from the pipes, or pooling around your toilet, don’t ignore them. Call us when you see the small problems because if they turn into larger problems, they can cost a lot of money and do a lot of damage.
Be Kind to Others. Especially your garbage disposal system. Remember don’t put coffee grounds, fibrous vegetables (broccoli, brussels sprouts, or artichokes,) bones, pits or other foods that will damage the disposal blades.
Be a Tree Hugger. We are living in more eco-friendly times. Turning off the water in the sink while brushing your teeth saves thousands of gallons of water a year. Pay more attention to the amount of water you use.
