In the natural world, mothers are the first to care for their young. Whether it be their muted hues to help hide their offspring from formidable predators or the instinctual protections to help fight off danger, the animal world has placed mothers at the forefront of the nuclear family. And it is no different with humans. Moms have a “sixth sense” when it comes to the safety of their child; their love transcends beyond his or her physical needs.
That is why this special bond deserves our attention on May 14, a day to remember the sacrifices your mother has made for your benefit, for your education, for your well-being. Call your Mom this Sunday; send her flowers, or go to visit her. No matter how busy our days become, it is essential to take the time to honor one of the most important people in our lives: our moms.
Happy Mother’s Day!
